Conjugated polyaniline can impact the field of water filtration membranes due to its hydrophilic and antibacterial nature, facile inexpensive synthesis procedure, heat acid tolerance, unique doping/dedoping chemistry. However, gelation effect, rigid backbone, limited hydrophilicity severely restrict adaptability their antifouling performance. This Mini Review summarizes important works polyaniline-related ultrafiltration membranes, highlighting solutions conquer engineering obstacles in processing challenges enhancing surface with an emphasis on As a pH-responsive polymer convertible conductive salt, this classic material should continue bring unconventional advances into realm membranes.
